Maid to Clean's website shows 4.8 stars from 2,260 Google reviews (6 October 2026). This guide isn't a review of its service: read recent reviews yourself on its Google Business Profile.
- Sort by newest. Recent reviews tell you more about the service today than the overall score.
- Look for homes like yours. A review of a weekly clean of a small flat says little about an end of lease clean of a four-bedroom house.
- Read how problems were handled. The business's replies to critical reviews show how it handles a complaint.
- Don't compare star ratings across sites. Different platforms and customers produce different scores, so we don't compare ratings between businesses.

Maid to Clean charges $71 an hour one-off or $63.90 weekly or fortnightly, or a flat rate by bedrooms from $179. Simply Maid charges a fixed price by bedrooms and bathrooms.

- Maid to Clean calls its policy a 200% Satisfaction Guarantee. Report within 48 hours with photos, which are required, and it offers a re-clean, generally on weekdays. If you're still unhappy, a refund of up to the full amount may be considered. Move-outs have 7 days. Hourly bookings are covered for quality, not for how much was done, and flat-rate end of lease cleans also carry a bond-back re-clean promise.
- Simply Maid: report within 48 hours, with photos if asked, and eligible concerns within the booked checklist get a free re-clean of those areas within seven business days. If you're still unhappy, Simply Maid reviews it and offers a fair credit or refund. Simply Maid doesn't promise a bond outcome.
Cancelling and lockouts
Maid to Clean charges from $50 for cancelling the day before; Simply Maid's cancellation is free until 24 hours before.
- Maid to Clean. Its terms charge $50 if you cancel before 5 pm the day before, and 50% of the job after that or on the day, waived if the slot is refilled. Its FAQ asks for one business day's notice, so check the current terms. If the team can't get in, it contacts you, waits 15 minutes, then cancels with a 50% fee.
- Simply Maid. Free with at least 24 hours' notice; inside 24 hours a fee may apply under the current cancellation terms. If the cleaner can't get in after 20 minutes, the booking is cancelled and a $70 lockout fee applies.

A national house cleaning company that says it employs its cleaners, with flat rates by home size and hourly bookings, plus funded cleaning such as NDIS and DVA.

When Maid to Clean may suit you better
Maid to Clean can be the better fit for some Melbourne households.
- You live in Geelong, which Simply Maid doesn't serve.
- You want to book by the hour for a particular job.
- You want work outside Simply Maid’s service scope, such as ironing or exterior window cleaning. Carpet and eligible fabric upholstery cleaning are available through Simply Maid; compare the selected items, method and full booking total.
- You want a bond-back re-clean promise on a flat-rate end of lease clean.
- You book weekly or fortnightly and want a regular cleaner allocated.
Simply Maid may suit you better if you'd like a fixed price that counts your bathrooms, free cancellation until 24 hours before, and the same price and process if you move to another city we serve.
Employment, franchise, contractor and introduction models allocate selection, payment, attendance and remedies differently. These are questions for the chosen service, not claims that any model always assigns a duty to a particular party. How we compare
We compare what each business publishes about how its service works, not how well any one clean was done.
- What we read. Each provider's own service, pricing, help and terms pages, on the date shown beside each fact. We didn't post jobs, ask for quotes, book cleans or contact sales teams.
- "Not stated in the sources we reviewed". We couldn't find it on the pages we read. It doesn't mean the business doesn't do it, so ask them.
- Platform terms and individual cleaners. On a marketplace or through an agency, much is set by the person you book. We describe the platform's or agency's published terms, not any one cleaner's.
- Prices. We compare like for like where we can: the same service, home size and frequency, with GST, minimum hours and fees noted. Simply Maid's prices are live from our booking calculator. Other figures are labelled as published rates, "from" prices or marketplace task prices, and we never work out an hourly rate from a fixed price.
- No scores or winners. We don't rate providers or pick a winner. Star ratings on different sites come from different customers, so we don't compare them.
- Which providers. The services that appear most often in Google results for house cleaning across the seven cities we serve, plus agencies that serve most of those cities.
